The monsters in my head

strapped me to my bed.

No one hears me yell and shout.

I was burning out.

My light flickering.

All around me, my monsters snickering.

I broke their constraints.

I ignored their complaints.

Jesus set me free.

Now I’m souring over the sea.

The moonlight licked my skin.

My face split in a grin.

Dreams within reach.

My happiness they no longer could leach.

Praise the Lord.

My freedom scored.

Flying through the night.

The moon making me glow bright.

I left those monsters behind.

The monsters out of my mind.

They can no longer bite.

I took my flight through night.
